The Perfect Iced Coffee

Now that we finally have some warmer weather, I have been craving a good cup of iced coffee. If you’re anything like me, iced coffee on those warmer mornings just seems to hit the spot. Before you run out to the nearest coffee shop, try making your iced coffee at home! Home made iced coffee is easy and cost-effective, and it tastes just as good as the coffee shop version. One of the easiest ways to make that perfect, coffee shop tasting iced coffee is by brewing it overnight. Check out our step-by-step guide on how to make the perfect cold brew coffee overnight.

What You’ll Need:

·         Coffee beans

·         Cold water

·         French press or a large jar with a lid

·         Strainer

·         Ice

·         Milk or creamer (optional)

·         Sweetener (optional)

Choose

First you are going to want to pick the right coffee beans. Choose a coffee with a strong, bold flavor so it stands up well to being diluted by the ice. Use any type of coffee bean that you like however, we do recommend a medium to dark roast.

Grind

Grinding the coffee beans just before brewing will ensure that you get the freshest and best-tasting iced coffee possible. For this method, you’ll want to use a coarse grind. Don’t have a coffee bean grinder? No problem! Click HERE and use one of these methods to grind your coffee beans.

Add the Coffee and Water

Place the ground coffee in the bottom of your French press or jar and pour cold, filtered water over the coffee. Make sure that all of the coffee is wet. Stir the mixture gently to make sure that all of the grounds are saturated with water.

Brew Overnight

Refrigerate the French press or jar overnight. The coffee will steep and brew slowly, creating a smooth and flavorful iced coffee concentrate.

Strain

In the morning, remove the French press or jar from the refrigerator. If you’re using a French press, press down on the plunger to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid. If you’re using a jar, strain the coffee through a fine mesh strainer.

Enjoy

Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the coffee concentrate over the ice. Add your favorite milk or creamer and sweetener if desired. Stir and enjoy!.
