Residents of Boston’s North Shore were first introduced to Ipswich Ale in the spring of 1991. With 25 years of history behind it, Ipswich Ale has been in existence longer than nearly every other craft brewer in all of New England. Since that time, the Ipswich Ale portfolio of brands has developed into a tradition shared by not only the residents of eastern Massachusetts, but across New England.
In January of 2016, the Ipswich Ale Brewery opened their on-site restaurant, the Ipswich Ale Brewer’s Table, featuring 15 tap lines and a diverse menu with a mix of tastes ranging from brewpub to New American. General Manager/Head Chef, Myles Eason, set out to develop a menu reflective of Ipswich Ale’s “always fresh and local” philosophy, often incorporating locally sourced ingredients.
Patrons can watch the brewing process through industrial-sized windows, following the beer-making process from grain to glass. While there, Ipswich Ale Brewery and your favorite Beer of the Month Club invite you to shop their brewery apparel, or pick up an exclusive 22-ounce bottle of limited edition beer from their merchandise shop.
Ipswich S.I.P.A. is their first Session India Pale Ale combining lower-than-average alcohol with higher-than-average hoppiness. Aggressively hopped with Simcoe, Ella and Mosaic hops for zesty, fruit-like aromas and just light-bodied enough for a nice, dry finish.
Ipswich Oatmeal Stout is deep, rich and malty, with hints of chocolate and coffee. It’s what espresso would be if it had the gumption to be beer. They use two different hop additions, specially selected crystal malts, roasted barley and oatmeal to give it a soft and silky mouth feel. Makes a great dessert or meal.
