Country: France  Region:Pays d’Hérault  Grapes: Grenache and Carignan

The Hérault River gives its name to the Pays d’Hérault region, a vast wine-making area in the South of France, in the heart of the Languedoc. The river travels along diverse types of soil and topography until it finally empties into the Mediterranean Sea near Agde. Inspired by the fanciful tales of Pierre Renard and his father, Pierre et Papa is a compact range of high quality, well-balanced wines made from grapes sourced throughout Southern France. The packaging provides for a nostalgic feel influenced by old French advertising ephemera.

This selection, a blend of Grenache and Carignan grapes, shows a deep ruby red in the glass. The flavor robe is intense red with beautiful flavors of red berries such as raspberry and cassis, amplified with slight minty notes. Smooth, round and full bodied on the fruity palate, it shows some spicy notes in the finish. This is a perfect example of a youthful and easy-drinking wine. The wine is ready to enjoy now. Be sure to serve slightly chilled (about 65°F) for maximum taste experience. Pair with your favorite recipes of beef stew or pasta dishes. Meats straight off the grill find this wine to be more than a compatible companion.
