What began in 1996 as an experiment of 100 cases of hand-bottled, hand-labeled and hand-delivered beer has grown into a 200,000+ case per year operation employing well over 30 full and part time staff. In 2012, they grossed over $3.9 million in sales, a 42% increase over the previous year. Shmaltz honors their contract brewing roots, making the best of their playground for brewing specialty beers, they continue hosting a growing family of enthusiastic consumers.
Ranked in 2013 as one of the “Top 100 Brewers in the World” by RateBeer.com, Shmaltz has won multiple awards and honors. The country’s first and still only Jewish Celebration beer provider has sold upwards of 10 million bottles.
