Their selection, 100% Barbera fruit, is brilliant ruby red in color. The taste profile includes a red cherry nose; high acidity and white pepper spice, all held together with soft dusty tannins and very balanced moderate alcohol. This represents the classic expression of the pure fruity Barbera grape. Enjoy it now, at room temperature or slightly chilled. A wonderful companion for a meal of pizza, burgers, cold cuts, or any young cheeses.

Terre Sabaude Barbera D’Asti:

BARBERA GRAPES — A prolific Italian variety grown in Piedmont, whether alone or blended, the Barbera grape makes light, fresh, fruity wines that are very good. Almost as fine as the Nebbiolo grape from that same region, Barbera grapes produce wine that is softer in tannin, at least as high in acidity, and excels around the Alba and Asti areas. (Also grown in California, this Italian grape, when grown here in the U.S.A., is high in natural acidity and is used mostly for blending.)
